Job Opening: Project Assistant

We are currently looking for a project assistant for a temporary remote role in Nigeria for a period of 6 months – 1 year with the possibility to extend. This position will be reporting to a project manager and will support a project that we will be running in Nigeria. 

*** Please note that this role will be based out of Lagos, Nigeria but may require some travel. Candidates not based in Nigeria will not be considered. Future short-term travel to Ghana is likely once it is safe and practical to do so. 

Responsibilities: 

– Project Oversight -Vendor Management: 

  • Daily oversight of the projects assigned to you (performance management, quota management, and quality controls) & adherence to GeoPoll standards.  
  • Issue resolution with teams on the ground. 

– Project Oversight -GeoPoll stakeholder: 

  • Performance communications & issue resolution. 
  • Quality assurance.

– Team Management:  

  • Overall project implementation, training & support (engagement with other departments) to ensure projects are running at the required standards and pace. 
  • Timeliness and Escalation for support to meet deliverables on time. 
  • Tasks & Issues are being kept up to date in the required tools/channels. 

– Sample Management: Checking quotas and verifying locations 

Requirements:  

Must-haves: 

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a program/project coordination or survey research role. 
  • Demonstrate a positive, helpful demeanor with a passion for program management and survey research. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to follow through and execute on tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with clients and to various internal departments in support of the project’s overall success. 
  • Have problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills. 
  • Familiarity working with people of different nationalities and backgrounds. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science, business administration, or similar field is preferred. 
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. 

Nice-to-haves 

  • Qualitative media or market research experience
